Virginia Lee Cavinee...age 86

Virginia Lee Cavinee age 86, of Fontana, Ks. died Tuesday July 10, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie , Kansas.

Virginia was born October 09, 1925 to John and Anna Brand Cornelius, the youngest of four daughters.

She attended elementary schools in Topeka before attending Mound Creek Elementary School. She then graduated from Osawatomie High School in the class of 1944. She attended Washburn University in Topeka and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority

On October 12, 1946 she and Oscar Eugene“Jack” Cavinee were married in Topeka, Ks. They lived in Oregon for a year before moving to Paola. They became the parents of two daughters. They made their home in rural Miami County since 1949. Jack died Dec.6, 2007.

Virginia and Jack worked at the Old Country Flea Market in Osawatomie two or three days a week for over twenty years. Virginia continued to work there until 2010. She lived at home until going to Life Care Center in Osawatomie on April 24, 2012.

She was a member of the Beagle United Methodist Church in Beagle, Kansas and UMW. She enjoyed home making, sewing, knitting and collecting antiques.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Jack and two sisters Ruth Peckman and Gladys Hutson.

She is survived by her two daughters: Cornelia Ann Jeffery and husband Dennis of Topeka, Ks. and Gail Doering and husband Dave of La Fayette, California; two granddaughters: Allison and Shannon Doering and one sister: Evelyn Anderson of Riverside, California.

She has been cremated.

Memorial Services are 11:00am Aug. 4, 2012 at the Beagle United Methodist Church with a lunch to follow at the church.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Beagle United Methodist Church.
