Jimmie Daniel Demmitt

Jimmie Daniel Demmitt, 76, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2010,
at St. Francis Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas. He was born
November 12, 1933, in Chester, Oklahoma to James A. Demmitt and
Hazel Timblin Demmitt.
He was a birthright Quaker, lifelong cowboy and enjoyed watching old
western movies. He spent the last 28 years living in Arkansas, moving to
Topeka, Kansas in June, 2010.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Duane and Lavern; one grandson, Gabriel Demmitt;
one sister, Norma Jean Pearce; and one brother, Mike Demmitt. He was also preceded in death by
two wives, Dorothy Louise Castleberry Demmitt and Kathleen Kinder Demmitt, as well as the mother
of his children, Rita Taylor.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Demmitt and Tina Cramer (Ron) of Topeka, Kansas; three
sisters, Marie Morrison (Paul) of Ottawa, Kansas, formerly of Knoxville, Arkansas, Dorothy Bennett of
Rantoul, Kansas and Margaret Barnes (Daryl) of Baldwin City, Kansas; one brother, Charles “Pat”
Demmitt of Baldwin City, Kansas; one aunt, Myrtle Hay (Charlie Eldon) of Osawatomie, Kansas; three
granddaughters, Chelsea Demmitt Molgren (Zach) of Newton, Kansas, Makinly and Danali Cramer of
Topeka, Kansas; and one great-granddaughter, Skyler Marlar of Newton, Kansas. He is also survived
by several step-children and step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home,
203 Main Street, Osawatomie, Kansas. Services will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010, 10:30 a.m.,
at the funeral home with burial following in Spring Grove Quaker Cemetery, Lane, Kansas.
