Phyllis Ann Helm, age 77 of Osawatomie, Kansas died Thursday May 19, 2011 at Life Care Center in Osawatomie.
Phyllis was born June 2, 1933 in Emporia, Kansas. She was the younger of two children of Theodore Madison Curtis and Ruby Tennessee (Bruce) Curtis.
She attended schools in Emporia, Ks, Paola, Ks and New Franklin Missouri. She then Graduated from Parsons High School in Parsons, Ks in the class of 1951.
Phyllis was married June 20, 1954 in Parsons, Kansas to Fred Marvin Helm. They were the parents of two children and lived in Parsons until moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1962, then to Osawatomie in 1987.
She had worked in the catalogue order department of Sears and Roebuck Department Store for 19 years during the 60’s and 70’s.
She belonged to the United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Fred of the home; one son, Anthony Scott Helm of Kansas City, Kansas; one daughter, Tammy Lou Helm-Teter and her husband Gail of Lebanon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Alicia Helm of Kansas City, Kansas; Michael McHenry of Lathrop, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Roberta Helm of Kansas City, Kansas; one brother, Theodore Kenneth Curtis of Parsons.
Memorial service 1:30 PM , Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Ks. with a short visitation following service.
Memorials are to the Heartland Hospice.
