Marjorie Jeanell Mccarty

Marjorie JeaNell McCarty 91 yrs. old of Mount Ida, Ar. passed away on June 30, 2011, she was born on November 2, 1919 in Osawatomie, KS. to Parvin and Mary Waller Reed.

Mrs. McCarty has lived in Osawatomie, KS area until 1996 when she moved to Mt. Ida, Arkansas to be near family.

She was a Farmers Wife, 4-H Leader, School Cook, Floor Supervisor at Mode-A-Day Blouse Factory and retired in 1981

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold D. McCarty , November 26, 2002; Great grandchildren, Adam and Evan McComas; Siblings Edward Reed, Joseph Reed, Betty Winterton; her Parents Parvin and Mary Reed

She graduated Parker High School in 1938.

She was a member of Beagle UMC in Beagle, Kansas and Mt Ida United Methodist Church after moving here. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Unit.
After taking up watercolor painting at the age of 90, she won first place in the Montgomery County fair in 2010. Her Hobbies, loved to cook and try new recipes; loved to ser, made oldest granddaughters wedding dress and quilts for all of her grandchildren as Christmas and wedding gifts.

McCarty and spouse Linda of Derby, Kansas; grandchildren: Dan McCullough (Kris) Maumelle, Ar.; LeAnn Rollans (Dan) Little Rock, AR.; Debbie Higgins (David) Sherwood, AR.; Kevin McCullough (Ede) Mt. Juliet, TN.; Julie McComas (Michael) Derby, KS.; Jill Stuart (Joe) Denver, CO.; Jodi McCarty Darby, KS.; Great Grandchildren; Lacie Rollans, Austin Rollans (Shae), Megan McCullough, Zach Higgins, Justin Rollans, Ryan McCullough, Connor McCullough, Morgan McComas, Kylie Higgins, Allison McCullough, Bryce Higgins, Sarah Kate McCullough; Great – Great Grandchild; Jayden Rae Rollans.


Memorial service; Tuesday, July 5, 2011 10 am at Montgomery County Assisted Living
Burial and Memorial Service at Parker Cemetery, Parker, KS., July 9, 2011 at 10 am. Under the direction of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Kansas.(913) 755-2114.

Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Montgomery County Assisted Living or Mt. Ida, United Methodist Church.
