James Thaddeus Creighton

Heaven received a gift of James Thaddeus Creighton, age 79 of Lane, Kansas. He died Tuesday July 12, 2011 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, Kansas

James was born September 17, 1931 in Parker, Kansas. He was the second of 6 children of James Boyd and Leoti M. (Hope) Creighton.

He grew up in Parker, Kansas he attended Parker High School graduating in the class of 1949

He married Helen Jeanette Triplett November 16, 1953 in Paola, Kansas

He worked for Delco Battery for 30 years he was a tool crib-sweeper, general maintenance. He also worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad and farmed most of his life.

He liked to fish, hunt and camp

He belonged to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Ottawa.

He served in the Navy for 4 years

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Richard Creighton and Johnny Creighton.

Survivors are 3 daughters Perda Jane Adkinson,West Valley City, Utah , Sheila Darlene Delaney, Richmond, Kansas and Debra Kay Chino, Eudora, Kansas. 3 sisters Marjorie Robert, Osawatomie, Kansas, Judy Brown, Osawatomie, Kansas, Mary McKinney Kincaid, Kansas 4 grandchildren Jamie Tawney, Cody Delaney, Tyler Oestreicher and Megan Oestreicher and 2 great-grandchildren Kaleb Tawney and Kybrin Tawney.

Service 10am, Sat, July 16, 2011 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home chapel with burial at Osawatomie Cemetery. Visitation 7-8pm Friday, July 15. He will be In State after 3:30pm Friday, July 16.

Memorials are to the Kansas State University Cancer Research.
