GLADYS MAE PENTLIN

Gladys Mae Pentlin, age 89 of Holden, Missouri, formerly of Osawatomie, Kansas died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Holden Manor in Holden, Mo.

Gladys was born December 5, 1921 in Tonganoxie, Kansas. She was the tenth of 13 children born to Fredrick Frank and Elma Belva (Pickens) Kramer.

She attended school in the Tonganoxie school system.

She was married December 24, 1943 in Lawrence, Kansas to John Allen Pentlin. They first made their home in Tonganoxie, Ks. then Topeka, Ks. and Ozawkie before settling in Olathe for 25 years. They became the parents of 8 children. They moved to the farm south of Osawatomie in 1992. Mr. Pentlin died March 28, 1997. Gladys lived on the farm until 2007 when she entered North Point Nursing Home in Paola. Then she moved to Holden Manor in February 18, 2008.

She was a former member of the World Wide Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1997, one son Allen Wayne Pentlin, seven brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by one son John David Pentlin of Osawatomie, Ks; six daughters, Carolyn Ann Brown of Spring Hill, Ks, Shirley Jane Brazee of McAlister, Ok., Sharon Mae Marshall of Blanchard, Ok., Martha Lucille Jones of Independence, Mo., Viola Maxine Gunn of North Kansas City, Mo., Janet Hodkins of Holden, Mo; one brother LeRoy Kramer of Rantoul, Ks.; two sisters, Erma Groom of Louisburg, Ks. and Florence Faler of Lawrence, Ks.; twenty Grandchildren and twenty-six great Grandchildren; other friends and relatives.

Graveside service 10:30, Monday, July 18, Beagle Cemetery, Beagle Kansas.
