Robert Fredrick “Buck” Reinecker

R.F. “Buck” Reinecker, age 93, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Ks.

Buck was born April 20, 1918 at Horton, Ks. He was the fourth of six children born to Joseph Paul and Leatha Alice (Stone) Reinecker. He graduated from the Osawatomie High School in the class of 1936.

Buck was united in marriage to Edna Mae “Grace” Irwin at Paola, Kansas on April 19, 1941. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of seven children.

Buck worked as a machinist for Bendix (now Allied Signal/Honeywell) in Kansas City, Missouri from 1956 to 1983 when he retired.

He was an active member of the St. Philip Neri Church in Osawatomie, VFW and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Edna Mae ”Grace” (Irwin) Reinecker in 2010; one son William Alan “Bill” Reinecker; his great grandson Noah Reinecker; three brothers Bruce, Don and Jack Reinecker; one sister Ruth (Reinecker) Smith.

He is survived by his brother, William Reinecker of San Diego, California; three sons Phil and his wife Suzanne Reinecker of Tucson, Arizona, Dennis and his wife Marcy Reinecker of Shawnee, Kansas, and Jim Reinecker of Topeka; two daughters Ruth Elliott and her husband Mike of Anthony, Kansas and Linda Hamm and her husband Rene of Chicago, Illinois; his daughter-in-law Judy Reinecker of Osawatomie and Sharon Bailey and her husband Ronnie of Topeka; 6 grandchildren Karma Reedy, Pamela Thuem, Cynthia Lambert, Skylar Reinecker, Taylor Elliott, and Tristan Hamm; 3 great grandchildren Tanner Thuem, Max Thuem, and Ava Reedy; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Osawatomie. Burial will be in the Osawatomie Cemetery with military honors. Instate after 1pm Friday. Visitation will be from 6 to8 p.m. Friday at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home. Memorials are to the St. Philip Neri Church.
