Bobbie C. Manes

Bobbie C. Manes, age 70 of rural Richmond, Kansas, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her home after an extended illness.

Bobbie was born July 12, 1941 in Warren, Kentucky. She was a daughter of Erle Vanover and Rebecca Vanover.

She attended school in Kentucky then moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met and married Teddy O’Neil Manes. They made their home in Detroit then moved to Kansas. The family’s final move was to Richmond, Kansas in 1997. She was a homemaker and raised five children. Mr. Manes died May 22, 2007.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted Manes; one daughter, Sandra Alice (Manes) Franks on September 2, 1997; two brothers, Ike “Spiderman” and John Vanover; one sister May Vanover.

She is survived by four sons, Terry and Dawna Vanover of Ottawa, Kansas, Rodney Warren of Ottawa, Ks., Rudy and Andrea Manes of Ottawa, Ks., Ted-O and Angie Manes of Wellsville, Ks.; one son-in-law, Coogan Franks of Richmond, Ks.; three brothers, James, Ronnie “Nub” and Roger Vanover; five sisters, Irene West, Linda Hill, Dawna Sue Vanover, Erlen Vanover and Kay Vanover; eleven Grandchildren; two Great Grandsons and one Great Granddaughter on the way.

Funeral will be 10:30 am, Friday, September 16, 2011 at Graveside at Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas.
