Delana Elaine Hughes

Delana Elaine Hughes, age 52 of Olathe, Ks. died September 26, 2011 at her home.

Delana was born January 14, 1959 in Caraway, Arkansas. She was the fifth of eight children born to ML Ashley and Ina Marie (Crabtree) Ashley. She attended school in Arkansas until the family moved to Kansas City, Ks when she was in grade school. They later moved to Olathe, Ks. where she attended Olathe High School.

She was united in marriage to Richard Gwain Hughes on August 26th, 1977 in Olathe, Ks. They had two children a son Adam and a daughter Amanda. They made their home in the Gardener and the Olathe area.

Delana was a full time wife, mother and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, an infant sister, one brother Tom Ashley and one sister Marilyn Lorenzo.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of the home; her son Adam Hughes also of the home; daughter Amanda Mulberry and husband Walter of Gardener, Ks.; one brother Ed “Rick” Ashley and wife Tanya of Parker, Ks.; three sister’s Carol Lucas and husband Ken of Rantoul, Ks.; Gail Fultz and husband Jerry of Gardener, Ks.; Doris Smith and husband Bryan of Haskell, Ark.; one granddaughter Emily Mulberry of Gardener and many nieces, nephews and friends

Memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday, Oct.1, 2011 at the home of Carol & Ken Lucas, 4683 Hamilton Rd. Rantoul, Ks. 66079
