Mike Dewayne Mcqueen

Michael DeWayne McQueen, age 61 of Olathe, Kansas, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Ks.

Mike was born February 16, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the sixth of seven children born to Oliver Martin and Lola Lois (Mitchell) McQueen. He attended Argentine schools.

Mike was united in marriage to Bonnie Marie Snellings at Kansas City, Ks. on June 16, 1967. They made their home in Kansas City, Ks and became the parents of four children. They moved to Olathe, Ks in 1981 where they lived for the past 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Kenny and Marty McQueen; one daughter, Sophronia Elizabeth Anderson in 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Marie (Snellings) McQueen of the home; one son, Michael S. McQueen of Gardner, Ks. two daughters, Ann Summers of Osawatomie, Ks. and Tammy Cherry of Whiting, Ks.; mother Lola Lois McQueen of Osawatomie; one brother, Donnie McQueen of Pleasanton, Ks; three sisters, Judy Everhart of Pleasanton, Ks, Jean Brown of Kansas City, Ks and Peggy Greenfield of Tulsa, Ok; sixteen Grandchildren; 3 great Grandchildren.

Funeral services are 1:30 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home followed by burial at the Parker Cemetery, Parker, Ks. Visitation 6 – 8 P.M. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.
