Helen Louise Cox, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Guest Home Estates, Garnett, Ks.
Louise was born March 10, 1930 in Rantoul, Kansas to Harold E. and Mabel B. (Hughes) Rodgers. She was the fourth of six children.
Louise was married on April 11, 1948 in Osawatomie, Kansas to Everett Wells Cox. They made their home in De Soto, Ks for 10 years before moving to Lawrence, Ks in 1958, then moved to Ottawa, Ks in 2004. They became the parents of three children. Her husband preceded her in death on March 7, 2009.
Louise and Everett owned and operated the E & L Trailer Rental for many years in Lawrence, Ks, as well being a homemaker taking care of the three kids.
Louise enjoyed doing puzzles, collecting dolls and loved dogs. Helen and Everett loved to travel in their RV and went to Texas for many years. Helen also was a MASSAVE KU fan.
She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband and five siblings.
She is survived by two sons, Everett Lee Cox, wife P.J., of Garnett, Ks. and Steven Douglas Cox of Ottawa, Ks; one daughter, Tina L. Gusik, husband Bob, of Drums, Pa; four Grandchildren and six great-Grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30am, Graveside, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Osawatomie Cemetery. Instate Friday, April 27, from 1:30pm to 8pm, at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home
