Charles Wildar Ringey, age 87 of rural Parker, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his home.
Charles was born July 31, 1924 in Lyndon, Ks. He was the youngest of five children.
He attended Lyndon schools.
During WWII he was in the US Marine Corp from Oct 28, 1941 to Nov. 3, 1945. He participated in the capture and defense of Guadalcanal and Consolidation of Southern Solomons.
He was married Jan. 31, 1945 in Oceanside, Ca. to Annabell Mae Bagshaw. They left California in 1946 moving to Hartford, Ks. and then to Tulsa, Ok. In 1950, then to Shawnee, Ks in 1951 and back to Los Angeles, Ca. in 1953.
They became the parents of three children, Charles and Annabell settled in the Parker Community in 1983.
Charles was maintenance Supervisor for TWA for 32 years, he retired in 1983.
Charles was a member of the Cadmus Grange #350 and was on the board of directors for the RWD #13 wholesale water district of Linn County.
He was he preceded in death by his parents , his wife of 66 years, two brothers Ralph Richard Ringey , and an infant brother, and two sisters Mildred Nedige and Helen Gallenger.
He is survived by his son: Charles Warren Ringey of Lakewood, Ca., two daughters : Alice Marie Howard of LaCygne, Ks. and Evelyn Louise Kimes of Longbeach, Ca. : seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
