Richard Gerald Harbison...Age 71

Richard Gerald Harbison age 71, of Meadville, Mississippi formerly of Kansas City, Ks. and Fontana, Kansas, died Sunday July 15, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Kansas.

Richard was born December 3, 1940 in Fontana, Kansas to Eli and June Beatrice (McDaniel) Harbison.
He was the eighth of nine children.

Richard grew up in Fontana and attended school there, graduating from Fontana High School in the class of 1959.

In 1964 Richard married Carol Kratzberg in Parker, Ks. They became the parents of three children. This marriage ended in divorce in 1981.

Richard married Annie Marie Thornton in 1999. Annie Marie died April 4, 2010.

He worked for Swift Food Company in the warehouse and he also worked for Associated Wholesale Grocers.

Richard moved to Mississippi in 2004 and lived there until 2012.

Richard liked to hunt and fish, he enjoyed playing cards, swatting flies, fussing, eating and loved being onery.

He was baptized and a member of the Grandview Christian Church and while living in Mississippi he attended the Washington Baptist Church in Natchez, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Annie Marie, one brother Lyndol Harbison, and one sister Ruby Harbison.

He is survived by one son: Paul Harbison and wife Alecia of San Francisco, Ca. two daughters: Gayla Cowan of Topeka, Ks. and Stacey Dickson and husband Kevin of Shawnee, Ks. one step-daughter Betty Sue Marcos of Lexington, Ky. Two brothers: Dean Harbison of Paola, Ks. and Glen Harbison of LaCygne, Ks.
Four sisters: Joanna Harbison of Overland Park, Ks., Shirley Damron of Paola, Ks. Lenora Crosby of Osawatomie, Ks. and Rose Lyle of Parker, Ks. Three grand children Lukas Harbison of San Francisco, Ca Corey and Lacey Cowan of Topeka, Ks. and two step grandchildren: Anna and Dakota Marcos of Sedalia, Mo.
