Theresa Matilda Dalton age 90, of Lane, KS died Friday, September 07, 2012 at the home of her daughter Anita.
Theresa was born to Frank and Catherine (Sokol) Stifter on November 18, 1921 in Greeley, KS.
She was one of seven children.
She grew up in Greeley and she attended St. John’s Catholic Schools.
On November 17, 1945 she married James Francis Dalton at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greeley.
They became the parents of five daughters. James Francis died February 3, 1979.
Theresa went to work for the Osawatomie State Hospital on March 1, 1969 in the housekeeping department and retired sixteen years later on May 5, 1985.
Theresa was an avid gardener, loved to fish and was a whiz at Chinese checkers always beating everyone. And Theresa was a big K U Basketball fan!!
She belonged to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Fredrick “Fritz” Stifter and Frank Stifter and four infant sisters.
She is survived by five daughters: Lois M. Dollar of Osawatomie, KS, Janice K. Domann of Lansing, KS, Marcia D. Scherman of Lane, KS, Linda L. Burkdoll of Rantoul, KS and Anita C. Thoele of Lane, KS.
Six grandchildren: six step-grandchildren: seven great- grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. (The grandchildren and friends lovingly referred to her as “Bubbles”.)
