Travis Lee Maupin age 32, of Osawatomie, KS died Thursday October 4, 2012.

Travis was born to Terry and Kathy (Baldwin) Maupin on June 28, 1980 in Kansas City, KS.

Travis attended several schools when he was young due to his parents work. When Travis was eight years old he went to school in Garnett, KS he had a lot of friends there and always considered it his home town. He later earned his GED, Travis worked mostly as a carpenter by trade, however he had interest in becoming a funeral director and even attended mortuary science school for awhile.

He moved to Osawatomie four years ago during this time he met Kara Kern and on November 28, 2010 they were married in Paola, KS. They made their home in Osawatomie, and became the parents of two beautiful children. They were also raising Travis’ eleven year old son. The last few years his wife and family became everything to him, Travis suffered with debilitating cluster migraine headaches, so he spent as much time as he could with his family going to parks and just spending time together.

Travis was preceded in death by his sister Magan Young Barr in December 1996, both paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather Earnest Baldwin.

Survived by his wife Kara of the home, Alexzander , Lucious, and HarleyQuinn Lee also of the home, daughter Kaitlyn, his mother Kathy Baldwin of Paola, KS. , his father Terry Maupin of Longmont, CO., grandmother Irene Hobert of LeRoy, KS, niece Angel Young of Garnett, KS, two great nieces and one great nephew also of Garnett.

Memorial service will be 4pm Saturday October 13, 2012 at the Garnett Church of the Nazarene, 258 Park Rd. Garnett, KS, followed by visitation.

Travis Maupin Memorial Fund has been established at the Great Southern Bank of Osawatomie.
