Juanita May Hickcox age 77, of LaCygne, Kansas, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.

Juanita was born December 9, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the fourth of seven children born to Harry Webb and Lora May (Croom) Webb. She grew up in Kansas City and attended school there.

On January 2, 1965 she married Robert Floyd Hickcox in Kansas City, Kansas. They became the parents of three children.

Her husband Robert was career military serving in the U.S. Army. His career sent them many places to live. Some of which include: Fort Hood, Texas: Fort Knox, Kentucky: Munich Germany then to Radcliff, Kentucky where he retired. They then moved back to the area and lived in LaCygne for the last two years. Robert died April 12, 2011


Juanita was a homemaker and spent her time with her family. Being a mom and a wife is a challenging enough job not to mention moving to new places. But Juanita loved being a military wife and she could shine shoes and put a crease in a pair of uniform slacks like a pro. She was a wrestling fanatic; she and her sister Beverly in past years went to watch wrestling matches at Memorial Hall in Kansas City when ever they could. Later in life she loved to watch wrestling on television. She was a big fan of WWE and Monday Night Raw. Juanita was sweet and loving and liked to color pictures with crayons and give them to family and friends. And most of all she loved babies and they all called her “Nanny”.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, two brothers: George Webb and Ralph Webb and one sister Evelyne Ussery.

She is survived by her son Robert Wayne“Bo”Hickcox of Overland Park, KS and her two daughters: Beverly and husband Brad Sylva of LaCygne, KS and Barbara HIckcox of Olathe, KS two sisters: Beverly Calvert of Cameron, Mo.and Gladys Clark of Wellsville, KS one brother: Jack Webb of Wellsville, KS four grandchildren: Misty Sylva, Devan Sylva, Bobby Sylva and Anthony Hickox, many other relatives and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Juanita at 1pm Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the LaCygne Community Building, LaCygne, Kansas.
