Dorothea M. Douglas....Age 80

Dorothea Mae (Dottie) Douglas age 80, of North Little Rock/Plano, Texas departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on December 23, 2012 at the Medical Center of Plano, Plano, Texas.

Dorothea was born in Redwing, Kansas on September 30, 1932 to Fredonna Mae (Marx) Clift and Luther V. Clift.

She attended high school in Osawatomie, Kansas and graduated in the class of 1950.

Dorothea was married in 1950 in Osawatomie, Kansas to Jay R. Douglas III. They made their home in Osawatomie for seven years. They became the parents of two children.
The family moved to North Little Rock in 1957.

She worked as a secretary at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Building in the mid sixty’s. In the seventy’s she worked at the Arkansas Electrical Co-op. She later worked at Kroger’s as a cashier and office clerk. She retired in the early ninety’s.

She was a member of the Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

Dorothea is preceded in death by her husband and her son Jay R. Douglas IV.

She is survived by her daughter: Melinda Moore and her husband Donald Moore of Plano TX. One daughter-in-law: Dean Douglas, of the Woodland, TX. One brother: Robert Clift and his wife Jan of Cushing, Ok. Five grandchildren: Kyle, Eric, Jay R. (the 5th), Keagan and Mason, one niece: Patricia, and four nephews: Robert, David, Tim and Michael.

Funeral services will be held at Roller-Owens Funeral Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, AR 72116 (501-791-7400) Thursday, December 27 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26 at 6:00-8:00 pm.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, Osawatomie Cemetery, Osawatomie, Kansas under the direction of Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home.
