Christopher Ray “Chris” McCoy age 36, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Saturday, January 05, 2013 at his home after his courageous battle with ALS.
Chris was born August 30, 1976 in Kansas City, Mo. He was the second of three sons born to Buster Lee McCoy and Karen Louise (Razo) McCoy.
He grew up in Paola, KS and went to school at the Paola High School.
Chris went to work as a welder with Doherty Ornamental Iron of Paola, Ks. He then worked as a carpenter for Triangle Builders of Paola, Ks and then Chris went to the Carpenters Apprentice Training and after completion worked in the Kansas City area for George J. Shaw Company as a Union Carpenter.
Chris married Wendy Kay Anello on April 16, 2005. At that time he became the proud father of a young son. They made their home in Osawatomie. Later the same year Chris and Wendy became the parents of twin girls.
Chris was raised in the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and a member of Carpenters District Council Kansas City and Vicinity, Local #714 of Olathe, Kansas.
Chris liked to hunt, fish, camp, bow hunt, coach sports for his kids and carpentry, making jewelry boxes for the girls. He enjoyed family, community and KU Basketball. He was a very dedicated Chiefs Fan, all the way. He was also a Watch D.O.G.S. monitoring halls at the kid’s school.
He is preceded in death by his mother Karen Louise McCoy who died January 26, 2009, his maternal grandfather Isaac Razo and paternal grandfather Buster H. McCoy
Chris is survived by his wife Wendy, his son Tony Newman and his twin girls Christine and Josephine McCoy of the home. His father Buster Lee McCoy of Paola, Ks and two brothers: Jeremy McCoy of Paola, KS and Jason McCoy of Lansing, KS, paternal grandmother June McCoy of Paola, KS and maternal grandmother Emily Razo of Paola, Ks; two nieces, Alexandria and LeAnn McCoy of Paola, Ks; mother-in-law, Donna Anello of Osawatomie, Ks; and other friends and relatives.
