Evelyn Marie Cashman age 82, of Paola, Kansas died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Marie was born on January 15, 1931 in Bancroft, Kansas to Oliver Paul and Luella Fern (Holcomb) Jones. She was the youngest of three children.

Growing up in Bancroft, she attended school and graduated from Bancroft High School, the class of 1949.

Marie married Lloyd Morgan in 1949 and they became the parents of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Lloyd Morgan and Dayton Cashman. She is survived by former husband, Keith Shores.

Marie was an excellent seamstress and worked at Lounge Craft and King Louie Caps both in Paola. She did alterations for several years for Olathe Cleaners, in Olathe, Kansas.


She was a dedicated Foster Grandparent at Lake Mary in Paola for 19 years. She was proud to call herself a Foster Grandparent. She was former member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary of Paola.

Marie was preceded in death by her sister at the young age of 15, Audrey Jones, her brother Paul Allen Jones, and by her daughter Barbara Sue Johann October 3, 2003.

She is survived by two sons: Steven Dale Morgan and Stanley Allen Morgan both of LaCygne, Kansas and two daughters: Marsha Lee Harrison of Vassar, Kansas and Dixie Diane Rosner of Pomona, Kansas.

Marie will be in state after 1pm Thursday, February 7th with visitation from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, February 8th with burial in the Mound Creek Cemetery. All services will be at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home 203 Main, Osawatomie, Kansas.
