Jean Louise Maimer , age 84 of Osawatomie, KS died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS.

Jean was born December 17, 1928 in Kansas City, MO. She was the oldest of four children born to Francis Vincent ”Frank” Spellman and Olivet Marie (Biringer) Spellman. She graduated from Glennon High School in Kansas City, MO in the class of 1946.

Jean was married December 16, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS to Benjamin Carl Maimer. They made their home in Kansas City, KS and became the parents of eight children. The family moved to Osawatomie in 1971.

Jean took her role in life as a wife and the mother of eight children very seriously and loved every minute of it.

She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Francis “Frank” Spellman and Richard Spellman. Jean is also preceded by two grandchildren Joy Feuerborn and Dustin Maimer.

She is survived by her husband Ben, of the home, four sons: Neil (Sharon) Maimer of Pocatello, Idaho, Michael Maimer of Boise, Idaho, Mark (Cheri) Maimer of Green Ridge, MO and Paul (Heidi) Maimer of Caldwell, Idaho, four daughters: Kathleen (Howard) Steiner of Aurora, CO, Ann Feuerborn of Boise, Idaho, Vivian (Ray) Strnad of Wenatchee, WA and Mary Maimer of Boise, Idaho. One brother William Alfred ”Bill” (Dee) Spellman of Sun City West, AZ and one sister-in-law, Lois Spellman of Blue Springs, MO. Jean is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and six & 2/3rd great-grandchildren.
