Loren Dale Edwards age 78, of rural Lane, KS died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home after an extended illness.
Loren was born November 14, 1934 in rural Lane, KS about a half mile from his present home. He was the second of three children of Herman Dale Edwards and Odessa Mae (Hay) Edwards.
He attended Highland and Independence country grade schools and graduated from Osawatomie High School in the class of 1952.
Loren was married January 3, 1953 in the First United Methodist Church of Osawatomie to Donna Lee Storm. They made their home in rural Lane, KS and became the parents of three children.
Loren began working for Delco-Remy Battery plant in Olathe July of 1959 in production. He retired in 1998 as a Production Inspector.
He was a member of the UAW #1021, First United Methodist Church of Osawatomie, Osage Valley Lodge #24 AF & AM of Osawatomie; he was a fifty year plus member. He was also a member of the O.E.S. Evelena Chapter #435 of Lane, Ks.
He was preceded in death by his son Loren Dale Edwards, Jr. in 1953, his parents and one sister Wanda Smith of Garnett, KS.
Loren is survived by his wife Donna Lee of the home; two daughters Deborah Annette (Cecil) Redifer and Lorna Lee (Lloyd) McCrea all of Osawatomie; one sister, Loretta Diehm of Parker, Ks; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
