Dorothy Barker age 83, of Osawatomie, KS died Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Lifecare Center of Osawatomie.

Dorothy was born June 24, 1929 near Parker, Ks. She was the oldest of three children born to Lafe Ellison Conrad and Theresa Elizabeth (Coop) Conrad.

She attended Parker High School and graduated in the class of 1947.

She went to work for the Osawatomie State Hospital in 1947. She was a switchboard operator in the telephone office for a year and a half. While working there she met Robert D.”Bob” Barker. The couple married on September 4, 1949 in Osawatomie. They became the parents of two children and made their home in Osawatomie. Bob died August 4, 2012.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Dorothy enjoyed reading, cooking, cleaning, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with the grand kids.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband “Bob”. She is survived by her son, Roger Allen (Vickie Sue) Barker of Bucyrus, Ks and daughter, Debra Sue (Richard L.) Wilson of Paola, KS; two brothers, Clayton L. Conrad of Osawatomie, Ks and Thomas J. Conrad of Garnett, KS; two grand-daughters Jayme (Joey) Wilson-Haney of Lawrence, Ks and Lindy Wilson of Osawatomie,Ks; three step grand-daughters, Brandy Conrad of Paola, Ks, Gina Lowry (Joe Van Bibber) of Kansas City, Ks and Jennifer (Joseph) Gouker of Paola, Ks; three great grandsons, Joseph and Jaxson Gouker of Paola, Ks. and Azariah Lowry of Kansas City, Ks; one great granddaughter, Kensley Alexis Craig of Osawatomie, Ks.
