Bonnie Jean King, Age 88, of Paola, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Osawatomie.
Jean was born August 23, 1924 in Rural Louisburg, KS. She was the eighth of eleven children born to Winfred Gerald “Jim” and Wanda Chrystal (Reed) McDowell.
She attended schools in Louisburg, and Paola.
Jean was married June 8, 1942 in Olathe, KS to Emery Leland King. They moved to Osawatomie, KS in December of 1945 and became the parents of two children.
Jean was a homemaker, as well as a daycare provider for 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Osawatomie since 1951. She was very interested in the missionaries that the church supported and sent many letters to them.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Emery on November 23, 1987, four brothers, five sisters and one grandson.
Jean is survived by her son Ronald “Ron” King and his wife Janice of Osawatomie, KS, her daughter, Sharon Phifer of Paola, KS, one sister, Kay Skiles of Cape Fair Missouri, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
