Marilyn Jean Pitts age 77, of Osawatomie, Kansas died Thursday June 13, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Osawatomie.

Marilyn was born November 30, 1935 in Worth, Missouri the second of two children of Orville Arthur and Yvonne Etha (Wray) Barnes.

At a young age Marilyn married Orville Mendel in 1950 the marriage ended in divorce.
On October 19, 1962 she married Vernon Pitts. They became the parents of two children. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas and then in Pueblo, Colorado. This marriage ended in divorce in 1980.
In April of 1985 Marilyn married Robert Litehaurt they made their home in Warsaw, Missouri and in Osawatomie. This marriage also ended in divorce.

While living in Pueblo, Colorado Marilyn and her husband Vernon owned a gas station for ten years, where Marilyn did all the bookkeeping. She also worked at the Alco store as a department manager, and later at Price Chopper in Paola in the late 1980’s.

Marilyn was a member of the Osawatomie Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Orville George Barnes, and one half brother Mervin Barnes.

She is survived by her son Timothy Wray (Patricia) Pitts of Osawatomie, Kansas, her daughter Tamara Dee (Doug) Click of Monett, Missouri, six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
