Obituary written by Carolyn Kay Jones displayed per her request :

I Carolyn Kay Jones, age 67 of Osawatomie, KS, passed away on June 27th 2013 after my battle with cancer. I was born in Wichita, Kansas to James Ira and Martha Alberta(Shufeldt) Crum on July 21, 1945.

We moved to Lenapah, Oklahoma when I was a few months old. I grew up there and graduated from Lenapah High School.

In 1962 I married Bob Moseley in Lenapah and we became the parents of two children, a daughter Debra Carol and a son, James Robert. The marriage later ended in divorce. In 1976 I married Eldon Mc Dowell in Miami, OK and that was my entrance to Osawatomie. That marriage also ended in divorce. In 1994 I married Elbert Jones in Hutchinson, KS that also ended in divorce but from that marriage I gained two sons, Chris and Les, they and their families have remained very close to me.

In 1976 when I came to Osawatomie, the first week I started work at what was then American State Bank as a file clerk and eventually did all the functions of the bank and was operations officer. In 1993 Miami County National Bank of Paola bought American State Bank and I was transferred to a bank in Paola. Miami County was buying banks in other states and counties so it became Team Bank. I worked in many areas and finished my career there as Operations Specialist. In 2009 when the economy went bad, Team Bank went under and that ended my 33 year banking career.

I loved my job there and my banking family. Many of us have remained close and in touch. Now what to do, so I retired and was led to the Foster Grandparent Program. What a blessing that has been in my life another wonderful family and I worked in the Swenson School for Headstart, it was like having twenty new grand kids each year. I was also blessed to work at Kiddie Kampus day care for a few hours a day. And that was another blessing. I have to mention this event in my life as it was such an awesome thing to me.

I was in the flood of 2007 and my home had 4ft. of water. My co-workers at Team Bank put together Team Extreme and gutted and rebuilt my home. Gave me a new home and new everything in the house. That was my family.

I am a member of the First Presbyterian Church here in Osawatomie. My hobbies have been reading and I loved country music and dancing. I actually just loved life, family, friends and just wanted to help everyone I could.

I am survived by my daughter: Debra of Osawatomie, my son James”Brother” and wife Tammy of Delaware, OK. sister: Scottie Kerns of Osawatomie and brother: Charles Crum and wife Sue of Osawatomie.
Three grandchildren: Tyler Toney and wife Kristen of Shawnee, KS, Bailey and James Daley Rope Moseley of Tahlequah, OK.
Three great grandchildren: Domani, Illeana and Azariah Toney of Shawnee, KS.
Two step-sons and their families: Chris and wife Denna Jones and grand daughters Tanna and Chylar of LaCygne, KS and Les and wife Molly and grand daughters Hailey and Taryn of Paola, KS.

I am also survived by a very dear and special friend I met three years ago, Hamil Spiker of Paola, KS.

I have requested no services and am giving my body to science research. You can celebrate my life by passing it forward and giving someone a big hug. That will make me smile.

Carolyn’s family is honoring her request to have no services. However, they have decided to have a social gathering on Saturday July 6th at the First Presbyterian Church in Osawatomie from 2:00-4:00.
