William Joseph “Bill” Page age 74, of Parker, Kansas died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home.
Bill was born in Parker, Kansas on October 7, 1938 the 7th of nine children of Elwin Richard and Eva Lillian (Hampton) Page.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Parker, attending Parker schools and graduating from Parker High School with the class of 1956.
On March 6, 1959 he married Janet Lorene Knight at the Baptist Church in Xenia, KS. They made their home in Parker and became the parents of three children. They were married for fifty-four years, Janet died June 7, 2013.
Bill worked at various jobs throughout his lifetime. Bill and his brother Frank had a farming business together, Bill also did carpentry work, remodeling and building houses. In 1981 Bill started William Page Construction which specialized in foundations. At different times his business later employed his son and grandsons. Bill retired in 2002 and returned to farming. Bill loved to work; and once said work was his enjoyment.
Bill was one of the most loving men you could meet. Honest and straight forward. He helped a lot of people; many times knowing he would never get back what he gave. However, Bill had a big heart and that is just who he was.
Family came first to Bill, he loved his wife and children and when the grandchildren and great grandchildren came along he just loved them all. His family was always the most important part of his life; he wanted to make sure they all were well provided for. He liked to fish and took several trips to Canada to fish for Walleye.
He was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Parker and a former member of the Elks Lodge #921 of Osawatomie.
