Curtis Ray Logan age 76, of Olathe, Kansas died February 9th, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall Road Kansas City, Mo

Curtis was born November 28, 1937 in Stone County, Missouri the third child of four to Laurence Eldon and Gladys Mae (Tharp) Logan.

He grew up in the Stone County area and attended school there, graduating from Hurley Missouri High School in the class of 1955.

In September of 1955 he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed on the USS John W. Weeks were he held the position of a Radio Operator throughout his enlistment. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in November of 1958.

Curtis returned to his home town after his discharge. After a courtship of about two years he then married Montra Sue Nichols on January 27, 1959. The couple was happily married for 55 years.

They made their home in Springfield, Missouri for about four months when Curtis began his training for the FAA. Curtis became an air traffic controller and he worked in St. Louis, Missouri for five years. He was then transferred to Olathe, Kansas where the coupled settled to begin their family. They became the parents of two children Jeffrey Alan and Jennifer Rae Logan.

Curtis worked as an air traffic controller in Olathe for forty-one years retiring June 30, 1997.

Curtis went back to school in 1974 attending Mid-American Nazarene University in Olathe graduating in 1977 Magna Cum Laude with a degree in business.

The schedule of an air traffic controller was demanding and not the normal Monday thru Friday employment. In order to get family time they took a two week vaction with the entire family every summer. On one vacation they spent four weeks visiting every state West of the Mississippi.

Curtis loved to hunt Quail, Pheasant and Grouse with his bird dogs, which he trained himself. He was also an avid fisherman and spent many family vacations fishing in Minnesota. Curtis was also a gardener, growing his own vegetables, fruit trees and roses. He loved his roses, he even attended the International Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

Curtis was a member of the Ridgeview Baptist Church in Olathe where he served as deacon and church treasurer for several years. Later joining the Olathe General Baptist Church where he worshiped until his health began to fail.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary Lou Curbow and one grandson Dakota DeRemus.

He is survived by his wife Montra, and his son Jeff Logan and wife Jacqueline, and their three children Gunder, Ariane, and Curtis Logan and his daughter Jennifer DeRemus and her husband Scott and his daughter Krystal.
