Albert Leon Eastwood....Age 74

Albert Leon Eastwood age 74, died Sunday morning, March 30, 2014 at his home in Fontana, Kansas.

Albert was born October 16, 1939 the youngest of four children to Albert Andrew and Edith Pearl (Hay) Eastwood. Born at home not two hundred yards from where his home has been for his entire adult life. He truly was a lifelong resident of Fontana, born, raised, lived and died all on the same family land.

He attended school in Fontana, graduating from Fontana High School in the class of 1958. After high school Albert farmed the family land with his father for a few years. On September 10, 1960 he married Shirley Cornett in Fontana. The couple made their home there and became the parents of two sons, Rex and Ronald.  This union came to an end when the couple divorced.

On September 22, 1978 Albert and Anna Lee Hargadine married at the courthouse in Paola, Kansas. They also made their home in Fontana and became the parents of one son, Andrew. Their marriage also ended in divorce.

Albert worked for the Miami County Highway Department for almost twenty years. He was a part of the road and bridge crew. He also worked for a short time at the Miami County Co-op, and of course he always farmed the land.

Albert was a simple man, with simple pleasures nothing fancy or too extravagant. He enjoyed his job, he liked to drive, and so running a road grader was perfect for him. After work relaxing with a cold beverage was his idea of a good time.

He was raised in the United Methodist Church of Fontana.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Viola Rhynerson and Edith Pearl McClintock.

He is survived by his three sons: Rex Eastwood, Ronald Eastwood and Andrew Eastwood all of Fontana, KS. One sister Ruth Broker of Paola, KS, five grandchildren: Julie Parsons, Jennifer Eastwood, Kylee Eastwood, Kimberlee Eastwood, Andrew Eastwood Jr. and one great grandchild Laree Parsons, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
