Mildred Louise Hall age 85, of Osawatomie, Kansas died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at NorthPoint Skilled Nursing in Paola, Kansas.
Mildred was born April 19, 1928 in Paola, Kansas, the sixth child of seven to Allen James and Snodie J. (Jones) Christopher.
She grew up in Paola and attended school there, graduating from Paola High School with the class of 1946.
On June 16, 1946 she married William R. “Bill” Hall in Ottawa, Kansas. They made their home in Springhill, Kansas and became the parents of three children. The family moved to Mound City, Kansas and then in 1955 they settled on a farm south of Osawatomie, Kansas where they raised their family and called it home. Bill died February 8, 2001, Mildred and Bill were married for over fifty-four years.
Mildred was a busy homemaker, wife and mother. Raising her children and taking care of the home as Bill was a self-employed trucker. Mildred was an excellent seamstress and did sewing for many people from her home. In later years she also worked in a couple of different sewing factories.
She enjoyed gardening and loved to do crafts. She and her husband were former members of the 4 County Saddle Club and the Mo-Kan Pony Pulling Club. And a current member of the United Methodist Church of Paola.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, and her three brothers: Harry, Jim and Allen, her three sisters: Mary, Minnie and Betty.
She is survived by her three children: Harry (Pam) Hall of Newburg, MO, Patricia (Bill) Fouts of Osawatomie, KS and Donna (Rick) Courtney of Osawatomie, KS, four grandchildren: Vonda Whitley, Loretta Carter, Travis and Shane Hall and seven great-grandchildren. Along with many other family and friends.
Graveside services will be 2pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Miami Memorial Gardens in Paola, KS. Memorials are to: Mildred L. Hall Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 430, Osawatomie, KS 66064
