Lawrence Watson Lloyd age 84 died Friday August 8, 2014 at Life Care Center Osawatomie, KS.
He was born to his parents George Washington Lloyd and Dora May (Crow) Lloyd on October 19, 1929 in Amelia, VA. He was the youngest of their ten children.
Larry worked much of his childhood in his Father’s timber business until he went into the United States Marines in 1951 serving 2 years active duty and 6 years reserve. He was proud to be a Marine and to have served his country.
He worked several different jobs including Autonetics Missile Division at Anaheim, CA., Cummins Diesel in Richmond, VA and Kansas City, MO. As a diesel mechanic and branch manager. He retired from Franklin County Public Works in Ottawa, KS as a heavy equipment mechanic.
He served many years as a councilman for the City of Lane, KS. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Osawatomie, KS. God was always first in his life. He loved God, his family and his country in that order.
Larry was preceded in death by his brothers; Duey, Huey, Ralph, Gershon and Kenneth; his sisters Mary Lynch, Velvie Lynch and Annie Dennis; and grandson Channing May.
He is survived by his wife Janet Ann (Elder) Lloyd; children Ronald L. Lloyd, Lawrence (Chip) W. Lloyd II, Christopher N. Lloyd; and daughter Tammy Powell; stepson Randal J. Crisler and stepdaughter Cheryl A. Crisler; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister Virginia Nelson.
