Ethel Phillippe, 99, of Galion, Ohio formerly of Osawatomie and Wichita, Kansas died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at home.
Born September 10, 1914 in Lynn County, Kansas, (Rural Parker) one of five children born to Irvin C. and Dot (Stites) Bearly. She grew up in the Parker area and attended school there. Ethel married Glen Phillippe on January 2, 1934. They became the parents of three sons. They made their home in Osawatomie, Kansas for about six years. Then moved to Wichita, Kansas where they remained until Glen’s death on December 16, 1993. They had been married for fifty-nine years. Ethel moved to Ohio to live with her son in 2009.
Ethel was a member of Galion Community Christian Church where she was active in the Woman’s Guild. She spent her entire adult life in the services of others.
She is survived by her three sons Vernon R. (Marylou) Phillippe of Galion, Glen E. (Carolyn) Phillippe of Wichita, KS and Charles J. (Annie) Phillippe of Hondo, TX; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one brother Irvin C. (Maxine) Bearly, Jr. of Ottawa, KS.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held in Galion August 27th at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis www.SnyderFuneralHomes.com.
