Cecil Estel Brown Jr., 75, of Paola, Kansas died March 17, 2015. He was the oldest of five children born to Cecil E. Brown Sr & Cora Amelia (Logan) Brown on July 27, 1939 in Lamar, Colorado.
He grew up in Alva, Oklahoma and graduated from Alva High School with the class of 1957. He attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
He retired from Hercules Army Ammunition Plant in DeSoto, Kansas after 25 years of service. He also worked various other occupations.
Cecil had a passion for plants, art and life. He was a master gardener with a talent for turning a wilderness area into a miniature Botanical Garden. He enjoyed working with his hands. He was a locally renowned artist being a member of Heartland Art Guild and the Allied Artists of America Pen and Ink Guild. He was also a man of faith. His gardens were often adorned with signs depicting the words of scripture.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Paula, Joe, & Richard.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Tim (Sandra) Brown, Scott (Karen) Brown, and daughter Tammy McSpadden, brother L.
Carl (Susan) Brown and six grandchildren Jace and Kyle McSpadden, Jessica (Matt)Christian, Justin Stewart, David and Elisabeth Brown.
