~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jessica Lynn Smith age 25, of Lenexa, Kansas formerly of the Gardner/Edgerton, Kansas area died unexpectedly Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her home.
Jessica was born September 19, 1989 in Olathe, Kansas, the younger of two girls born to Bryan Matthew and Doris Ann (Ashley) Smith.
She grew up in the Gardner/ Edgerton area and attended school there, graduating from Gardner/Edgerton High School with the class of 2008. Jessica was currently in her second year of college at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.
Jessica was a compassionate, kind loving soul who loved animals, especially dogs. She and her older sister grew up with a Lab/Shepard mix named “Lucky” that was with them for seventeen years. Jessica loved to be with dogs and other animals so much she worked in a Veterinarian Clinic and a doggy day care.
She was always a person that could light up a room, even as a child she was full of life and love. She was a strong willed, hard headed, wise cracking young woman that everyone loved. She was the youngest of all the grandchildren in her family and a tiny little thing only five feet tall and a hundred pounds soaking wet. But she was not one you would want to mess with, she could take care of herself and always if she argued with you one second she would give you a big hug five seconds later, just to make sure you were okay. She was always more concerned for the other person no matter what the situation was.
She was a true “girlie girl” with a passion for shopping and hanging out with her “Besties” along with shoes, and purses, Coca Cola, Sushi, Pork Chops, Bunny Tracks Ice Cream and Uncle Ed’s dumplings. She was a devoted Chiefs fan, KU fan and a lover of concerts. Jessica enjoyed fishing and float trips and having lunch with her grand-dad.
Jessica was a typical little sister growing up fighting with her big sister Samantha. But when big sister made Jessica an Aunt she was thrilled. Jessica adored her little niece Vivian and only a few days ago, not quite two years old Vivian gave her the happiest moment ever when she finally said “Jessie”.
From her sweet smile to her heart full of love, Jessica will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew her.
Jessica was preceded in death by maternal grandfather M L Ashley, maternal grandmother Ina Marie Ashley and paternal grandmother Betty Smith
Survivors include her parents Bryan and Doris Smith of Haskell, AR, sister Samantha (Wolfgang) Landzettel of Tarkio, Missouri, paternal grand-dad Royce L. Smith Sr. and niece Vivian Jayne Landzettel, and many other family members and friends.
