Jania Joyce Scott age 61, of Olathe, Kansas died March 31, 2015 at her home in Olathe, Kansas.
She was born Jania Joyce Ross October 4, 1953 in Independence, Missouri one of five children. She was raised by her father Billy Ross and step mother Peggy Ross.
She attended high school in Spring Hill, Kansas, graduating from Spring Hill High School with the class of 1971.
In 1980 she married Steven Gene Scott in Oklahoma and they became the parents of two children, Shaun and Michael.
Jan worked off and on most of her life as a waitress in many different restaurants. But she was always a mother. She loved spending time with her whole family, her father, siblings and her children. She was a devoted grandmother and loved her grandchildren more than anything.
She enjoy playing Bingo when her health was good and she liked to do ceramics. Jan was a wonderful artist and liked to do drawings. She was an animal lover and had a little dachshund named “Jr” for fourteen years. Her current dog is a black Lab named “Joey” who was a wonderful companion to her being confined to a wheel chair for the last three years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include: husband Steven of Olathe, KS, son: Shaun (Holly) Scott of Osawatomie, KS, five siblings: Brothers Andy and Rick Ross of Olathe,KS and Michael Ross of Tucson, AZ, two sisters, Debbie Ross of Tucson, AZ and Diane Tate of Florida, stepmother Peggy Ross also of Tucson, AZ and four grandchildren: Aubrey, Hailey, Kylee Scott and Kodi Marmon and of course her canine companion “Joey”.
