Richard Lee Gilmore age 62 of Osawatomie, Kansas died Thursday July 2, 2015 at his home.

Richard was born August 28, 1952 in New Iberia, Louisiana.  He lived in Louisiana until he was 21 years old. Richard proudly served in the National Guard for seven years.

Richard married his first wife Jackie in 1983 in Alameda, California. They settled in Modesto, California where they lived together until Jackie died of lung cancer in 1993.  After Jackie’s death Richard met Rebecca. Richard and Rebecca married on December 5, 1994 and lived throughout California until their move to Osawatomie, Kansas in 2007.

Richard worked as a Teamster’s truck driver for 34 years. In 2007, due to failing health Richard retired

While at home, he enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows from the 70’s. Richard loved BBQing and hanging out with friends and family while enjoying a Budweiser, his favorite beverage.  He was a true Cajun at heart. He loved his food spicy; the hotter the better.  Richard was a loving husband, wonderful step-dad and Papa.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Jackie Gilmore.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Gilmore, step-son Gary Foster-Ellis of San Jose, CA., step-daughters, Rachael Moreno of San Jose, CA, Monica (Phil) Jackson of San Diego, CA. and Patricia (Mike) Watson of Greeley, KS.  Six Grandchildren; Marcus Watson, Logan Watson, Holly Watson, Cameran Moreno, Mackenzie Moreno and Mason Moreno.

Richard was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
