Janice Sue Cooper age 67, of Parker, Kansas died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Richmond Health Care and Rehab in Richmond, KS.
Janice was born on October 7, 1947 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. She was the third child of four born to Lloyd Harold and Mildred Josephine (Franklin) Jordan.
She grew up in the Shawnee Mission area and attended Shawnee Mission West High School.
Janice moved to Florida and began working in the kitchen as a cook on the United States Navy base in Jacksonville. She worked as a cook for about thirty years. Due to health problems Janice became disabled and unable to continue working.
On August 30, 1991 Janice married Gary Douglas Cooper in Jacksonville, Florida. Later that same year Janice and Gary moved to Parker to be near her mother who was in seriously ill health.
Janice was a funny, sweet, kindhearted woman who could whip out a comeback faster than anyone, her sense of humor was remarkable. She liked to sew, crochet, watch crime and police television shows, work in her garden when she was able or play with her little dog, a pug named “Bertha”.
Janice was a loving person who was always helping other people. If you were having a bad day, her instincts on how you were feeling were unbelievably correct, no matter how you would try to conceal them. She was a sensitive woman who always knew when you needed a word of encouragement or cheering up. Her family was her whole world and she loved all of them dearly. Janice never had children, however you would never know this by how she mothered her nephew Austin, who loved each other like mother and son.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Robert Jordan and her sister Shirley Jordan.
Janice is survived by her husband Gary Cooper, her brother Albert Franklin, and nephew Austin Kirch all of Parker, Kansas, along with other family, friends and her little dog “Bertha”.
