Esther T. Burns...... Age 95

Esther Thusnelda Thies Burns, 95, Osawatomie, KS (formerly of Beagle, KS) died November 26, 2015.

Esther was born December 10, 1919 in Harviell, MO, to John Adolph and Hilde Marie Anna (Wagner) Thies. She grew up in Poplar Bluff, MO.  On January 30, 1942 she married Christopher C. Burns, Jr. In addition to raising four children, Esther supported her husband in running a grocery store in Beagle from 1958 until retirement in 1979.  Esther was a very active member of the Beagle United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women (UMW).  Esther enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters: Erna Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Dorothy Massey, Frances Smith; and a son-in-law Gary Richardson.

Esther is survived by her children: Peggy Richardson of Lenexa, KS, Bill (Joy) Burns and Jerry (Cathy) Burns both of Osawatomie, and Bob (Patty) Burns of Cadmus, KS; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
