Wilma Marie Johnson age 82 of Osawatomie, Kansas died March 7, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas.

Wilma was born June 2, 1933 in Osawatomie, KS. She was the 1st of 4 children born to Willis W. and Edyth M. (Horn) Birchard.

She grew up in Osawatomie, attending the local schools and graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack L. Johnson on November 25, 1951. They would become the parents of four children. They lived in Selma, Alabama while Jack completed his military service.

They moved back to Osawatomie, then Lawrence, then North Platte and Omaha, Nebraska, and returned to Osawatomie after retirement.

While in Omaha Wilma worked in the offices at Boy’s Town. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed working on her class reunions. Wilma was the happiest when with her beloved dog “Toby” and around family and friends.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack in 2010 and her son Larry Ray Johnson in 1969.

She is survived by two sons; Stephen L. and his wife Linda of North Platte, Nebraska and Tony R. Johnson of Ogden, Utah. One daughter Dianna M. Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona. Two sisters Deana and Hank Boedicker of Paola, KS and Lela and Larry Brown of Osawatomie, KS, one brother Bill and Judy Birchard of Lane, KS, her sister in law Betty Cohen of Overland Park, KS, Two grandsons Tim and Rick and 2 great-grandsons Ethan and Chase all of Colorado. Also she is survived by her precious dog “Toby”, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
