Allen G. Smith age 64, of Osawatomie, Kansas died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Allen was born December 9, 1951 in Paola, Kansas the second child of four to Donald and Betty (Troxel) Smith. Allen grew up in Osawatomie and attended school in the Osawatomie School System.

Allen had his own place on his parents land and was always close to help out with anything they might need.

He was employed in the custodial department at the Osawatomie State Hospital for many years, and Life Care Center of Osawatomie also in the custodial department.

Allen was talented when it came to repairing appliances, from toasters to refrigerators he could usually fix them and enjoyed working on them.

About a year ago, Allen rescued a cocker/Lab mix that had been left on the road by their home he named her “Dog”, she died on Friday two days before Allen.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Leroy Smith, and one brother Randall Arlee “Randy” Smith.

Allen is survived by his mother Betty Lee Smith of Osawatomie and two brothers: Dean Smith and Mark Smith both of Osawatomie.
