Kenneth Allen “Kenny” Magers, age 77 of Parker, KS died November 21, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS.

Kenny was born October 20, 1939 in Kansas City, KS. He was the eldest of four children born to Clarence Allen and Edith Caroline (Johnson) Magers. He grew up in Parker, Kansas where he attended school and graduated with the Parker High School class of 1958.

After high school he went in the Army Reserves until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. He then went to work for Sutherlands and Weavers filing station in Osawatomie.  In 1965, he started his career with Smith & Loveless. He was a forklift operator to start with and then became a welder. In 2002, he retired from the layout department after working for the company for 37 years.

In 1990, Kenny met his best friend, Belinda and they moved to his farm in rural Parker in 2004. He was the fourth generation to live on the homestead. He was the kind of person that would never ask for help but he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Kenny was very passionate about his tractors. He would take antique tractors and restore them. In the beginning his love was for the John Deere tractors but as time went on just as long as it was old and rare he didn’t mind what brand it was. If you were ever looking for him you would probably find him in the garage tinkering with a tractor. In the summers, Kenny would have a big garden and that would take up a lot of his time.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Danny Stewart Magers.

His survivors include best friend Belinda Bowman, son James Allen Magers, daughter Jody (Ross) Hill of Adrian, MO, Katie Jo (Jordan) White of Parker, CO who he considered a daughter. Six granddaughters; Bridget, Sandra, Jamee, Kali, Katelyn and Brandi. Three great Grandchildren; Gabriella, Joseph and Elijah. Sisters Carolyn (Joe) Nordling of Allen, KS, Oneita (Duane) Miller of Oswego, KS and Diana (Charles) Buckley of Chetopa, KS
