Barbara Imogene Stull, 68, of Osawatomie, KS passed away Thursday December 15, 2016 with her boys by her side.

Barbara was born on May 9, 1948 in Goodland, KS. Barbara was the eldest of 5 children born to Jewell and Rosalyn (Edwards) Bolt. She grew up in Brewster, KS until the family moved to Goodland, KS to take over the family farm. Barbara graduated from Goodland High School in 1966. She then attended Fort Hays State University, where she graduated in 1970 with a degree in Political Science and History. After graduation she began her long career with the State of Kansas working as a Social Worker in the SRS Office in Ellsworth. Barb relocated to the Kansas City metropolitan area in 1973 and continued to work for SRS as a Social Worker. In 1976 Barbara became the first female parole officer in the state of Kansas. This was one of Barb's proudest accomplishments in her career. A couple of years later, Barbara moved to Osawatomie and began working at the State Hospital as a Social Worker. While working there in 1990 she finished her Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. Barbara remained a Psychiatric Social Worker there until she retired in 2001. Even after she retired, she never stopped being a Social Worker.

Barbara met her soul mate Richard William Stull, at the Kansas City bar, Club Royale during the summer of 1986. They were united in marriage on November 28, 1986. Richard adopted Barbara's first son, Jason in 1987 and they welcomed their second son, John in November 1987. The family resided in Osawatomie and Barb remained there after her beloved husband Rich passed away on December 18, 2008.

Barbara enjoyed making handcrafted soap, knitting, collecting frogs, playing Words with Friends and sharing countless things on Facebook, watching KU basketball with her youngest son and watching the Chiefs with her eldest son. Most recently she enjoyed sharing her iced tea and loving on her grandson Nathan.

By far, her favorite hobby was being a collector of positive interactions with the random people she would meet. She was a truly selfless and giving person who could find anyone's redeemable quality no matter who they were or what they had done. Barb was also a rebel in her own way by being a relentless advocate for her patients. Either by getting them the benefits, mental health care, or the proper placement they needed even though she was fighting the very same system she was a part of. She continued to campaign this way for friends and family but more often than not it was for someone she met by random chance out and about in the community.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her parents Jewell and Rosalyn (Edwards) Bolt and her husband Richard Stull.

Barb is survived by her sons, Jason (and Kelly) Stull of Paola, John Stull of Kansas City, KS, sister Cheryl Mickey of Oskaloosa, KS, sister Karen Bolt of Atwood, KS, brother Don Bolt of Jennings, KS, sister Marilyn Bolt Masters (and Dennis) of the home, grandson Nathan Stull, her two puppies Zoey and Harper, and many more family members, friends, and coworkers.

Memorials can be made in Barbara's name to be donated at a later date.
