Michael Lee McCoy, JR., age 7 of Osawatomie, KS died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Children’s Mercy Hospital after a long battle with cystic fibrosis and Liver disease.
He was born January 14, 2009 in Olathe, Kansas. He is the oldest of two children born to Michael Lee and Amanda Rose (Shipps) McCoy. Michael attended school at Trojan Elementary where he was in second grade.
In August, Michael and his family took a trip to Nebraska, to the Omaha Zoo. They then took a trip to Texas so that Michael could see dolphins and the ocean. Michael loved to build sandcastles instead of swimming. He was so ambitious his next trip he wanted to go see the statue of liberty. He is getting to see it now!
Michael loved ninja turtles, his favorite being Leonardo. His favorite color was blue and he could build anything with legos. He could light up a room and cheer up anyone with his smile. He had lots of friends at school, but his best friends were his cousins. He loved going fishing and mudding with his dad. Michael was a fighter, through his battle with cystic fibrosis he never thought of himself always about how others were feeling. He was always smiling! He was so smart and very kind and polite. He had a sweet little voice that could just make you melt, he was such a happy child even through all the pain he still would smile he was so strong and refused to give up, he is truly our hero and cf warrior and will be missed by everyone who knew him!
