She became a waitress, paid her room and board from her earnings, sending the rest of the money back home to her family.

In 1951, Angie married and together they had four children, Doug, Cindy, Alan and Belinda. The family moved to several places, finally settling in Parker, Kansas. The marriage later ended in divorce.

The family moved from Winona, KS to Kansas City for a short time, then moved back to Winona where Angie baked and cooked for several men who worked at a machine shop on their farm. They moved to Louisburg and owned and operated the Eaton Charolais Ranch, then to Wellsville where she worked in dietary at the Gardner Hospital, before moving to Parker. While in Parker, Angie ran the Hitchin’ Post for nine years. She was called "mom" by many of her customers. After selling the business, she was employed  in the dietary department at the Osawatomie State Hospital. After retiring in 1996 she sold carpet before working in the Parker Library. She was a hard worker, whether she was in a kitchen, working cattle or sitting behind a desk. She moved to Osawatomie in 2005.
