Andre Troy Smith

Andre Troy Smith age 55 of Osawatomie, KS died June 16, 2023 at his home.

Andre was born October 10, 1967 in Paola, KS. He was the 3rd of 4 sons born to Clarence James and Donna Jean (Turner) Smith. He attended school in Osawatomie where he graduated with the class of 1985. After high school, Andre attended Fort Scott Community College on a football scholarship. He majored in Business.

On October 24, 1988, Andre enlisted into the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Texas. While in the military he attended Airman Leadership School, NCO Academy and USAF Senior NCO academy. In February of 2010, he was honorably discharged after 22 years of service.

Andre worked for J&J Asphalt for a short time before going back to college. He attended Kansas University and Baker University where he earned his Bachelors and Masters in history. Andre started substitute teaching and worked as a Martial Arts instructor at Premier Martial Arts. He then worked as a bartender at BB’s in Spring Hill.

In his spare time, Andre enjoyed collecting comic books and watching sports. He was a Raider’s fan. Andre always could put a smile on everyone’s faces.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Smith and sister DeAnna Smith.

Survivors include his son Corey Smith, mother Donna Smith, brothers Bradley Smith, Derrick (Cheryl) Smith and Justin Smith all of Osawatomie. Along with many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
