C. Glenn Gabhart

Chester "Glenn" Gabhart age 79 of Osawatomie, KS passed away Saturday September 23, 2023 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission.

Glenn was born on October 25th, 1943 in Harrodsburg, KY to Chester & Lula Gabhart.  Glenn grew up, in and around, Harrodsburg, KY, where he graduated from Harrodsburg High School in Mercer County, KY.  Glenn joined the Navy around 1961 where he served in Japan before being discharged.

Glenn worked for AFG Glass in Spring Hill, Ks where he worked as a supervisor in the distribution department.  His last line of employment before retiring was as a security guard for Dillions Distribution in Olathe, Ks.

Glenn was an avid hunter.  He received great pleasure in being in the outdoors, fellowshipping with other hunters and close personal friends, Kenny Young, Richard Sharp, Albert Crook, Boog Robinson, as they attempted to perfect their individual hunting styles and train their dogs to their top performance.  Towards the end of Glenn’s life, he took great pleasure in spending time with his great grandchildren.  He enjoyed attending birthday parties for his great grandchildren and other family functions.  He made it a point to spend time with his family as much as time and his health would allow.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Ashley Smith, his brother Harold Wayne Gabhart and Harold’s wife, Suzanne Pike Gabhart.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Wanda May Gabhart of 60 years, his two daughters, Donja Cole and Kimberly Ann Hess.  Four grandchildren; David Cain, Anthony Hess, Joseph Cain, and Alicia Berry. His seven great grandchildren, Christian Goben, Uriah Cain, Olivia Lynn Hess, Cailyn Edyn Berry, Azlyn Dawsyn Berry, Owen Anthony Hess and Coda Brix Berry. Nieces, Jennifer Reike, Jessica Malson, Marina Santos, nephews Christian Reike and Landon Santos.
