Carol Jean Troutman... Age 74

Carol Jean Troutman age 74 of Richmond formerly of Osawatomie, KS died Thursday December 16, 2021 at Advent Health Shawnee Mission.

Carol was born October 14, 1947 in Ottawa, KS. She was one of five children born to LeRoy Ira and Effie Juanita (Nicholson) Thompson. The family move to Montezuma, KS in 1960 where Carol graduated from South Gray High School.

After high school, Carol returned to Ottawa. On April 23, 1971, Carol married Ronald Jean Troutman. The couple had one son, Brian Keith Troutman. The marriage ended in divorce in 2001.

Carol regularly attended church and taught Sunday school. Volunteering for various church functions, Meals on Wheels and she worked at the Osawatomie Public Library in 2014. Carol enjoyed her cats.

She worked at the sewing factor in Parker, KS in the early 80’s. Then when it closed Carol worked in a sewing factory in Garnett, KS until the late 80’s. She then moved her career to Wal-Mart were she worked as a cashier for many years until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna Sue Miller.

Survived by son Brian (Melissa) Troutman, two grandchildren Tatum Troutman and Brian Troutman Jr.; three brothers, David (Sheila) Thompson of Traskwood, AR, Philip Thompson of Basehor, KS and Daniel (Melody) Thompson of Leavenworth, KS. Along with other family and friends.
