Clifford Lee Browning... Age 63

Clifford Lee Browning age 63 of Osawatomie, KS passed Wednesday June 29, 2022 at Olathe Medical Center.

Clifford was born October 19, 1958 in Paola, KS. He was the youngest of six children born to Kenneth F. and Eleanor I. (Carleton) Browning. Clifford grew up in Linn County and attended Prairie View High School. He graduated with the class of 1976.

After high school, Clifford worked for Brinks Kennel, in the oil field and trimmed trees. He then became a welder at Kansas Iron Works then moved to Doherty Iron until 1990, when he started his career at Taylor Forge. He worked for Taylor Forge for 31 years until his retirement in 2021.

On February 16, 1979, Clifford and Mary Bennett were united in marriage in Paola, KS. Together they had three children, Eric, Erin and Justin. They made their home in Osawatomie, KS.

In 1985, Clifford started his 35 year career with the Osawatomie Volunteer Fire Department. During this time, he was a mentor to many of the new and young firefighters. Clifford was one of the first divers in the Miami County Water Rescue. In 2020, Clifford had to retire from the fire department.

Clifford enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played pool and was on a pool league. Clifford made delicious homemade peppermint schnapps that he would willingly share with anyone that would like to try. He was ornery and loved picking on his family and friends. He loved his family and supported his kids and grandkids in all of their sporting events and activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Browning.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary of the home, children; Eric (Kendra) Browning of Linn County, Erin (Jared) Ridenour of Osawatomie and Justin (Ashlie) Browning of Osawatomie, eight grandchildren, Augusta Browning, Anthony Weymouth, Drake Weymouth, Copenhagen Browning, Shyann Weymouth, Dodge Browning, Timberlyn Browning and Brayden Browning. Brother Dennis Browning of LaCygne, KS, three sisters Juanita Stone of Louisburg, Francis Watson of Fontana, KS and Diana Dougan of Kincaid, KS. Along with other family and many friends.
