Constance (Connie) Orth age 81 passed away at Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, KS on Monday March 14, 2022.
Connie was born in Petrolia, KS on July 14, 1940. She was the oldest born of 4 children to John Cornelius and Ethel (Colman) Thurman. Connie attended school at a one room school house in Petrolia, KS.
Connie was united in marriage to Robert Orth. From the union they would become the parents to 4 children Robert, John, Margaret and Joe.
In the summer of 1967 they moved to Parker, KS where they made it their forever home.
Connie was very active with the community. She was a girl baseball coach. The family worked on many activities and fundraisers to get a concession stand built for the ballpark. She was always involved with her children activities. Connie and Robert became 4-H leaders. She was known for her cooking and baking (favorite was bread). She was on the Parker Day Committee and Friends of the Library.
She spent a lot of time working with the Fire Department, doing Fireman dinners to get the new fire barn. During this time she received her EMT License for the Ambulance. Loving the community that her children grow up in. She and Bob loved Christmas. They worked hand hard in the Santa comes to Town night. Collecting gifts and getting sack of candy ready. During these years she was given the honor of Grand Marshall and later Citizen of the year for Parker Day.
Connie worked at Holiday Manor Nursing Home in Osawatomie, KS. Before staring work at the Osawatomie State Hospital on Rush Unite as a LMHT. She worked there until retirement.
Connie and her daughter was always going to garage sales and auctions. They had Flea Market Booths for over 38 years. 8 years ago they opened Dreamland Flea Market. She loved doing the Jeff Williams Flea Market at Kemper Arena. Also attended the Mound City Arts and crafts for years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Orth Sr., Sons Joseph Orth and John Orth. Her parents and sisters Betty Thurman and Sally Thurman.
Survivors include children Robert (Sally) Orth Jr. of Centerville, KS, Margaret Orth of Osawatomie, KS, Granddaughter Gabby Orth of Centerville, KS, Brother Charlie (Gloria) Thurman of Iola, KS and many nieces and nephews.
Connie will be cremated with a celebration of Life held April 23 rd at 1 pm at the Park in Parker, KS.
