Corey Dale Witt age 46 of Harrisonville, MO died Saturday September 21, 2019 at his home.
Corey was born December 27, 1972 in Wheatridge, CO. He was born to Timothy Dale Witt and Bonnie Jean Mason. Until age 5, he grew up in the Denver area, and after losing his father, later moved to Kansas where his mother would remarry Rodney L. Thompson. The family moved to Osawatomie in 1983. He graduated with the Osawatomie High School Class of 1991.
After high school, Corey worked at Sandells in Spring Hill and he and Tina Torrez made their home together. They later married on January 14, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together the couple had two daughters Alyssa and Taylor, and together raised sons Shawn Harper and Brandon Crozier. Corey was active in the Osawatomie community, serving as a coach for his children on several teams, playing in a men’s flag football league, and always willing to help a neighbor or friend in need. Corey also worked at Cummins Tools and Green Country Soil through his early years. His and Tina’s marriage later ended in divorce.
In 2009 Corey met Melissa (Moe) Webb, and on July 4th,2014 they were married, at their home church, Saved By Grace Fellowship in Raymore, Missouri. Together they co-parented and raised her five children: Maxwell, Levi, Sam, Joey, and Jesse Schoonover, along with his girls.
Corey enjoyed playing golf, mechanics and woodworking. He was very creative, he loved arts and crafts, his most notable projects being the Mosaic Stepping Stones him and Moe, along with the kids, made and sold, helping several friends going through hard times, with the proceeds. In addition to being very active in church, working, and all that comes with raising seven teenagers, Corey was kind and generous, never hesitating to lend his time and energy when a friend was in need. His quick wit, infectious smile and mischievous personality will be greatly missed.
