Darrel Scott Doty age 53 of Osawatomie, KS passed away from stage 4 carcinoma cancer on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at his home.
Scott was born October 24, 1963 in Bellville, Illinois. He was the fourth of five children born to David Paul and Aura Jane (Hornbuckle) Doty. He spent his early youth in Parson, Kansas. He attended Park Hill high school.
After high school, Scott started in construction. He was a carpenter and built houses. He also did rock and masonry work. He was a fixer. His famous line was “I can fix that”. Scott would go behind other builders and fix their mistakes. Around 2004, Scott moved to the Osawatomie from Blue ridge, Georgia. He started working for D & K Auto as a Mechanic. On December 7, 2015, Scott married Jamie Atwood in Johnson County. The couple made their home in Osawatomie.
Scott loved fishing and hunting. He liked to grill for his family and friends. He rode motorcycles any chance that he could. He was a member of the Vineyard of Hope Church in Osawatomie. Scott loved his family and would help them in any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son David Doty, Cheyenne Crawford who called him “dad” and brother Steven Michael Doty.
Survived by his wife Jamie of the home, daughter Haley (James Anderson) Burgoon of Osawatomie, KS, step children Timothy Butler of Osawatomie, KS, Britanni Butler of Paola, KS, Brothers Forrest Doty of Edgerton, KS, David (Laura) Doty of Rantoul, KS and sister Aura (Tim) Ammenhouser of Feyetteville, GA, Grandchildren James Burgoon, Aurora Butler, Bane Butler, Skyla Irvin, Tristin Irvin, Nathan Irvin, Raiden Irvin, Sareena Irvin and RJ Anderson. Along with other family and friends.
